Thanks for hosting, Gree!
My recent release is Harrowfield, a quiet folk horror set in the England/Wales border land known as the Marches.

The past is still very much in the present.

In this post/thread lies a ton of different horror. All you have to do is click the post and scroll down to see. Lots to choose from! I can't keep up with all of it. LOL!

Concluding? Oh please! The Phantasmal Symposium’s work is eternal, as is the thirst for alive souls! We are simply twirling away elsewhere…

Now is your time to join us! What do you write? In what crypts can we peruse it? What more do you have to share?

#HorrorWritersChat
Art by Jelle Husson, featuring a haunted monastery of many sharp-tipped towers scraping at the midnight sky. The largest is in the centre of the structure’s roof, whose walls are painted white. The monastery is located above a hilly terrain of dark stone and dark green moss. A stony, twisting road leads to the monastery.

The Orchestra Has Performed Their Final Piece!
The Symposium hopes you enjoyed our ghastly arrangement in this music hall! There is no algorithm here – visibility is reliant on your engagement.

Have you answered the questions? Do you have something to share? Promote below, and share each others’ posts!

The orchestra shall resume its operations… next week.

This week's Martin finale goes out to @chaoticauthor.online. The man needs your help. He's bored, in a hospital, and low on the green. Send him messages and use this link to brighten his day. Without Matt, you'd never get to read my corny jokes. HORROR!

My favorite ghost stories haven't yet found a home, but I did write a story based on fever dreams where I become obsessed with math. In "Six," featured in Judith Sonnet's SCREAMS anthology, the mc is haunted by a number.

My collection, out on Halloween, the day the veil is thinnest! Just one quote from a reviewer: "It’s like cracking open a book and landing in a drive in theater on 80s horror night!"

Let's meet at the drive-in. 🎃

Be it rotten flesh or dusty bones against thy stones, doesn't matter, illusions shatter, once you see shadows dancing to a ghostly tune you've never heard, and yet, you have, for it was always going to play for you, for us, one day, the song plays for all of us, dust to dust.

Come forth, Baron Crescendo! Let your guitar split the sky open, for more wraiths to dazzle us!

Behold, a note from him, for you!

“The moment you entered the graveyard, the scrape of ancient stone shadowed your ears.”

Finish it! With word of rhyme, before we dance to the end!

Question Four

There he is! Baron Crescendo! Oh how the skies split open to his guitar, how more of us fly in the air! And look, a note from him, just for you!

“The moment you entered the graveyard, the scrape of ancient stone shadowed your ears.”

Well? Go on! Word or rhyme, continue his Muse!

Interesting. I don 't know. I have lived in places where you might change your mind--or not. ;)
vivalavivian.bsky.social
Both. All ghosts need a voice. But if I had to choose, I prefer the folkloric kind as all tales are born from somewhere, perhaps with a bit of truth. Their stories are kept alive and bent into other ghosts over time. Even those made up somehow become real once they've scared us.

Listen to the Symposium’s finest vocalist, as their tenor bends the living into unnatural angles and swivels them into the air! Tell us, what ghosts do you prefer? Of the folkloric tradition, or those invented by authors? And why?

It is always a delight to see our violinists perform! How the living bend their splintering bones as they float above us all! Tell us, our ghostly compatriots – which of us are better? Of the folkloric kind? Or invented by our shadowy creators?

St Augustine. The old fort there--I can feel the ghosts! Graveyards are my fave though! I visit them whenever I can. New England holds special spots, like Union Cemetery where the white lady resides. If I can smell old books and decaying wood, arrrgh, there be ghosts!
#HorrorWriterschat
greethewriter.bsky.social
Now, let us begin! Let the flutes bleat and the trumps blare, snatching all the souls of the living away! What are your favourite haunts? Mausoleums? Lavish estates? What secrets do their wraiths protect within?

Question Two

Ah, the performance has begun! Behold the souls of the living darting into the flutes and trumpets! Now, as you sip your ectoplasmic wine, tell us – what are your favourite locations for ghosts? And why?

Hi, I'm Vivian, from a place where truck nuts come to die--Florida. I write a variety of horror, a little of everything. Um, ghostly visage? I arrive as that one ghost that likes to sit in your fridge and eat all your shit before turning into a demon dog looking for my keymaster.

Be welcomed to the ethereal music hall! A stringed aperitif is in order… do tell the Symposium what do you write, from where… and what IS, indeed, your wraithful visage for tonight?

Question One

Come in, come in! The Phantasmal Symposium has just begun! Settle in the ruined music hall, and tell us – what do you write, from where, and in what ghostly visage have you arrived at our askewed doorstep?
