I’m a creative, mainly a sound artist, and very much new media adjacent. I have been active as a composer for nearly 20 years, and my music has been performed all over the world in various new music festivals. I am currently a freelance composer and a production manager.

Although one could argue visual arts (like photography) are more accessible by virtue of them being readily available in one instant, and not needing as much high-end gear to be appreciated.

Music doesn’t necessarily require knowledge to be appreciated and enjoyed, whereas some knowledge of form is sometimes required to fully appreciate other art forms like visual arts or poetry.

Pianist and composer Marjo Tal died #OTD in 2006. During WWII she performed clandestinely until it became impossible and had to go into hiding losing all her early compositions. After WWII she cared for her mother who had barely survived Bergen-Belsen.
