Maiden of Black Water was good but there is a very funny aspect of it feeling far more like a Koei Tecmo action game than an actual horror game, through the relatively involved combat gamified to the point of giving you a score based rank after chapters lol

I played zero games on steam this year but have actively maintained my backloggery
52 new games finished this year while actively playing IIDX again. I think a big part of maintaining a healthy relationship with IIDX is making sure it’s not the only game you play/your only hobby.

I thought I had zero interest in the Neo Geo Pocket Color library until I saw that the Shadow Hearts devs made two RPGs for the system.
It’s always sorta peeved me how talked up the NGPC is, while it has a library that would be derided if it was on anything other than a “hidden gem” system.

Even within VSRGs, anything that doesn’t have a cool input method or tight enough timing windows is just so uninteresting

really struggle though to understand how so many people can praise this game while saying the other Yoshi games are bad. I definitely like Woolly World and Yoshi’s Story more than this game, need to replay DS and New Island at some point though

The 3DS version really isn’t as bad as I remembered, chirari is still a huge upgrade because of 60 FPS, but the frame rate really isn’t the issue here

I forgot the tadpole in sayo umi was an actual boss with a health bar and sat around for 8 minutes of cycles on the last attempt before remembering 😭
