Grateful for the opportunity to stand shoulder to shoulder with my neighbors today to send one clear message: ICE, it’s time to get the F*%# out of California!

Another fatal shooting. The latest of several this month.

More than 30 people died from the custody place since Donald Trump‘s racist ICE deployment started.

There is only one way this all ends: Impeach. Remove. Prosecute.

The first primary elections are on March 3, 2026. Let’s get to work!

Today we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We’re reminded of the work still to be done to address voting rights, poverty, criminal justice reform, while also rooting out racism, sexism, xenophobia, and much more.

Revenue from the half-cent sales tax increase would be dedicated to the Los Angeles Fire Department, and would raise money for the construction of new stations, the hiring of more firefighters and the purchase of new equipment.

It was an honor to stand with the women and men of UFLAC Local 112 as they begin their campaign to gather signatures for a ballot measure this November to secure committed, stable funding for the growth of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

We all deserve to live in safe communities. It’s something I fundamentally believe we all want.

ICE’s shooting of Renee Good took that sense of safety away from all of us. The President has unleashed a force of masked, unlawful, unaccountable armed individuals roaming our streets with impunity.

2026 will demand continued partnership — between state and local leaders, between government and community organizations, and across party lines whenever possible.

2025 was a year of both immense challenges and significant accomplishment. There is much more work to be done in 2026. I’m proud of what we accomplished, but I also know there is more work ahead.

It’s not on display at the Capitol, as is required by law. Its whereabouts aren’t publicly known, though it’s believed to be in storage. And Republican Speaker Mike Johnson has no answers.

Today marks the fifth anniversary of the Jan. 6, 2021, mob attack on the U.S. Capitol instigated by Donald Trump. And yet the official plaque honoring the police who defended democracy that day is nowhere to be found.

In 2025, I worked to protect our core priorities: making life more affordable, strengthening public education, addressing the shortage of affordable housing, improving public safety, and investing in a clean-energy future that creates good-paying jobs.

A little more than a year ago, I was elected to represent California’s 44th Assembly District. It has been the honor and privilege of a lifetime to serve our community.

Democracy doesn’t pause at the end of the year, and neither do the challenges facing our communities.
