But one man is trying to pretend he is the sole arbiter of morality and legality in this country. We have to stop him in the courts, at the ballot box, and if necessary, stop him by protesting in the streets.

We have to stop him. For your sake, your neighbors sake, and our nation’s sake.

We all have inalienable rights guaranteed by the U.S. and Constitution. Renee Good had rights. Keith Porter had rights. The 32 people who died in ICE custody in 2025 all had rights. No matter how you voted in 2024, we did not vote those rights out of existence.

ICE is developing a track record of arresting law-abiding citizens, minors in school, and protesters just seeking to hold them to account.  If you ask where they are taking your loved ones, they will refuse to tell you.

This has to stop. ICE is out of control.

2026 will demand continued partnership — between state and local leaders, between government and community organizations, and across party lines whenever possible.

It’s not on display at the Capitol, as is required by law. Its whereabouts aren’t publicly known, though it’s believed to be in storage. And Republican Speaker Mike Johnson has no answers.

As we look toward 2026, I am hopeful—not because the work is easy, but because Californians have always proven that when we come together, we can meet any challenge head-on. Wishing all of you a happy new year!

I’m proud of what we accomplished, but I also know there is more work ahead.

As you gather with family and friends to celebrate the end of the year, I hope you will consider taking a moment to make a contribution of ANY amount to help us meet our end of year fundraising goal.

In 2025, I worked to protect our core priorities: making life more affordable, strengthening public education, addressing the shortage of affordable housing, improving public safety, and investing in a clean-energy future that creates good-paying jobs.

This year, my colleagues and I worked to protect core priorities: making life more affordable, strengthening public education, addressing the shortage of affordable housing, improving public safety, and investing in a clean-energy future that creates good-paying jobs.

2025 was defined by difficult budget choices, serious conversations about affordability, and a shared responsibility to keep our state moving forward—especially for working families who are feeling the pressure of rising costs and an uncertain economy.
