Can anyone tell me when the contents of the budget became known/leaked to the media/public? as a 78yro I can remember the budget being a strictly guarded secret only unveiled at the dispatch box.

'Yes, Prime Minister' still stands as one of the most astute works of political observation.

Always worth watching.
Still the best explanation of Russian tactics and the difficulty of deterrence.

From: Yes, Prime Minister.

The Govt’s “largest review of the water sector since privatisation” ruled out public ownership - a solution 82% of us support - before even starting.
This review is a sham - but we still have a chance to be heard. Sign @labourlewis.bsky.social’s open letter: actionnetwork.org/petitions/si...

Dear Mr Trump
We need to reclaim our legally held land in France, especially the port of Calais, for the security of our nation.
Your advice please on what you would do in our situation.
Thank you

If the world has an outbreak of :- Measles, Mumps, Polio, Smallpox, Tetanus, Diptheria to name but a few, I will be protected. However as I'm 78 I won't be much use at helping the thousands who aren't.

I am old enough, and was politically aware, to remember the Cuban missile crisis. It was very frightening and a real danger of nuclear war. The difference then was, rightly or wrongly, we trusted JFK in how he handled it.

I see many people are calling for the cancelling of the Trump state visit. I dont think they should cancel it. I didnt see a date or time scale for it to happen. Very easy to procrastinate about it, always some reason not to set a time without being rude. We can be good at this it would annoy him!

I have been thinking about the trump attack all night. I have come to this conclusion:
In order to get access to the rare minerals etc that are in Ukraine USA will have to either give protection to Ukraine, or deal with Russia when they take over Ukraine. I believe Trump thinks he can do the latter

Why does Zelenskyy have to apologise? What for? Please explain to me.

Why have the BBC appeared to blame Zelensky for what happened at the Oval Office?

I understand, but it is not confirmed, that there are calls for changing USA election rules so that a president can sit for 3 terms, with the intention of Trump running again. If true, then Obama could return 👍

Improving skills is the challenge behind all our goals for growth & prosperity.

We need to end the obsession with university and level up apprenticeships to create genuine choices for people

I would like to ask a question - if the farm is family run and owned by parents and offspring, when one dies and their share is passed on to another, say a grandchild, does this affect what, if anything, is paid?

After much deliberation I decided on a picture for my profile. I was called Little My as a child by a bewildered father, nothing has changed although I am not, and never have been, little.

I have decided to join Bluesky owing to deep reservations of the other place. I have few followers and little influence in the world, so this will not affect the world order😂
