I think the toxic regime underestimates just how furious folks with kids are getting, by this rapid gutting of the U.S. as we know it for the benefit of the oligarchs. With the high tariffs on Canadian lumber and imported steel, this time the guillotines may be made of other materials....

Already overworked employees at U.S. border crossings will now have to spend MORE of their time searching for simple "contraband" groceries and retail goods - that of course means that they will be spending LESS of their available time trying to stop the flow of illegal drugs & human trafficking.

About half of the skiers at the big Vermont ski area near where I live come from Canada. The resort depends on migrant, and cross border labor. The last health care agency that I worked for, here in the U.S., depended on cross border labor.

The natural gas supply for northern Vermont is piped down from Canada. The biofuel electric power plant in Burlington runs on rail cars full of wood chips - from Canada.

The vast majority of the maple sugaring equipment that Vermont uses for this essential state industry is made in Canada. Cattle feed comes from Canada. Building materials that we need to address our housing crisis, from wood to roofing, comes from Canada.
