Fewer than 12 hours until the first of 2 HamTV transmissions from the ISS Saturday.

The HamTV unit is scheduled to send "tone and bars" during the 08:15 UTC pass.

Live video from the ISS will be attempted during the 09:51 UTC pass for the STEM contact with the UK.

Well I guess I won't be using the Motorola XPR 7550 at Head of the Charles since:
1. The ICS-205 changed.
2. The codeplug is a bitch to program.
2. I'm not really in the mood to hexedit the CPS so I can use 25khz...

Looks like I'll use the Yaesu FT-5D instead or maybe my Anytone 868.

Today's "blue marble" shot from GOES-18 of the eastern Pacific. Taken at 2030 UTC / 1:30 PM PDT, close to solar noon on this #equinox day. That's solar noon at the 137 deg W longitude of the satellite. Received and processed here in Vancouver with my own @Nooelec ground station.

The most difficult moment of my 41 year career happened eight years ago today (9/19), warning my compatriots on a livestream that the worst was about to happen.
This 23-hour radar loop shows Category 5 Hurricane Maria approaching Puerto Rico on September 19-20, 2017. It made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane ~6am on the 20th, but right around that time, the winds in the outer eyewall obliterated the radar and the loop ends. Maria devasted the entire island

The ARISS cross band voice repeater and packet (APRS) radios are back online after the recent outage for Progress operations.

HamTV trackers, note that there is an outage planned for Wednesday due to spacecraft operations.
