ttrpg GM/player without portfolio. Likes games with Samurai, realizes they aren't champions of the working class. He/him.
The system is, sadly, a mess. Avalon Hill's first foray into RPGs, it doesn't hide it's wargaming roots. There is math.

I love this module, and have used it as a "rustic fantasy" setting a number of times. (And yes, the third adventure needs *a lot* of revision). (And the map I made based on the module's map)

Yeah, seems on point. Also, based on some metric I don't understand I am 7% below average--that's on point as well.

Ceti Alpha V Eel Larvae didn't just make the victim vulnerable to suggestion. they also did a fantastic job keeping the aural canal free of wax build-up.

Well the first problem is you assigned inflated values to something that was worthless to begin with.

Then they weaponize the language with phrases like "Quiet Quitting." I bet Ms Morris has taken her share of vacation days, and it wasn't just a stay-cation because the family budget was too tight.

#boardgames Played two rounds of Dice Kingdoms of Valeria, a fun and quick Valeria-themed roll & write. Came last both times, would absolutely play again.

#ttrpg If your Druids and Clerics don't dress like this, why are you even playing?! 😂 (Fits from Miss Universe, apparently).

#boardgames We played two games of Doomlings and a game of Port Royale last night. Went for short, easy to learn games as a bit of a change-up from our usually more complex fare.

Y'all are playing Dispatch and I'm still out here waiting for Champions, due in 1992! #vaporware

(Seriously though, I enjoyed Dispatch very much).

I've played a lot of superhero #ttrpg games over the years.

When it comes to "knockback"--super attacks sending the opponent flying backwards--I don't think any game handled it as smoothly (and entertainingly) as Champions/HERO.

Sentinel Comics RPG is one of the games I'm too cowardly to run*

Still, I had an itch to review it, take a second look. And their publisher is having an absolute fire sale on all their games. Which makes me a bit sad.

*These days, games with a lot of fiddly bits. I tend to run simpler things now.
