Two of my friends have "Jamvent" calendars with fancy jams (Day 2: cardamom and fig), one has a Hot sauce calendar, one has a whisk(e)y calendar.

I just bought a pouch of little chocolates. Pro: Cheaper. Con: Might run out before Christmas

The system is, sadly, a mess. Avalon Hill's first foray into RPGs, it doesn't hide it's wargaming roots. There is math.

My other hidden treasure for a fantasy setting start (and this is more obscure) is County Mordara, Book V of Powers and Perils.

Some noble intrigue, Elves demanding the return of a treasure humans have forgotten over generations, a Thieves Guild incursion... ...it had a lot going on!

With out trying to run this around, it's not not how the game is played?

But there are plenty of people who take quests and do adventures and have random encounters not very different than earlier D&D versions.

I had to duct-tape a boot like that for three days in very rainy Jamaican mountains* (because I had three days more hiking to get to my follow-up bag). It suuuucked.

*Forest hills, not like the Himalayas or anything

Then they weaponize the language with phrases like "Quiet Quitting." I bet Ms Morris has taken her share of vacation days, and it wasn't just a stay-cation because the family budget was too tight.
