Everyone has their favorite #janeausten illustrations, and mine are those by Philip Gough, done for a British edition of her novels by Macdonald and Company in the 1940s and 50s. #booksky 📚

When I took a class on #janeausten from Juliette Wells, I didn't realize that I was embarking on a basic rethinking of both myself as a reader & fan & of the entire body of responses to & reworkings of Austen. Her book Everybody's Jane: Austen in the Popular Imagination, is a turning point #booksky

A year ago today we asked volunteers to help transcribe Jane Austen’s older brother Frank's Memoir. The transcription is now complete and available to read online! Thank you to all the volunteers who helped us to share Frank’s story.

My #wip for #pridemonth is the Fields of Brioche Shawl by Jonatan Tollow, using @uplandfiberco.bsky.social Cor Fingering. A friend calls this my "gray scale rainbow" but the point to me is to support lgbtq makers #knitting #showmeyourknits 🧶

If you want to start to understand Stonewall and the larger struggle for lgbtq rights you can't do better than listen to the @makinggayhistory.bsky.social podcast. #pridemonth

Finally blocked my 2 color version of Coastal Highway by Lisa Ross. Tried a lot of colors with the Magpie Fibers Swanky Sock Castaway but figured out it has a bluish undertone, so I ended up using Emma's Yarn Practically Perfect Sock in Orbit. 🧶 #justknitting #showmeyourknits

I've been listening to so many wonderful programs from @npr.org for decades. Just donated because there's never been a more urgent time to show support.

A few days ago, President Trump issued an executive order seeking to block all federal funding to NPR, the latest in a series of threats to media organizations across the country.
Public media is under threat. Millions depend on the NPR Network every day. Silencing journalism is one way to silence truth and erode the power of the people. Donate now.

Been awhile since I left my book comfort zone, but Indian Burial Ground by Nick Medina got my English major juices bubbling again. It's a fascinating genre-buster. Listening to it for the second time and looking forward to checking out his first novel. #booksky #books #reading

Profoundly disgusted and ashamed of the U.S. government's treatment of Ukrainian President Zelensky. Ukraines's security is our security. We must relentlessly oppose Russian aggression against Europe.

This resonates more than ever now 🧶 Here’s to finding solace and self care in our #knitting .

A white piece of card stock sits atop a knitted shawl. The paper has the following written on it in pointed pen calligraphy: Knit on, with confidence and hope, through all crises. - Elizabeth Zimmerman. The shawl is a lovely mint green with thin stripes in a light pink that contain bobbles of the same colour. It’s squishy and soft and oh so warm.
