“Fair enough,” I reply. “A sweet ass singer and manager sure helped, along with a drummer who will be the greatest the world has ever seen.”
“Oh, so you think I have a sweet ass, do you?”
“What— no, yes, I—”
Katie turns around but keeps walking backwards. “Wait, are you telling me I squeezed into these tight leather pants still wet from the rain, and he compliments your ass?!”
Rachel shrugs. ”Sorry, babe, when you got it, you got it.”
My brain kicks into high gear wondering if there is a way I can safely turn this into a compliment of how distractingly amazing Katie’s ass is in those pants, but I decide escaping the conversation is far safer.

Felcrown: The Story

21 years ago, the free city of Felcrown was founded in the blood of their fallen Oppressor God.
That same day, 6 children were born as the first citizens to only breathe free air.
This year's Unification Day celebration will set those six on a path of adventure to face threats to Felcrown and the wider world.

Felcrown: The RPG Setting

The city of Felcrown will be developed as a rules-light campaign setting. Dev Blog posts will premiere in February detailing aspects of the city and later compiled into full products.
Rules material will use Wizards of the Coast's SRD and EN Publishing's A5ESRD as its foundation but plans are to adapt them to multiple open RPGs.

“Well, exciting is one word for it,” I manage to say. “But, I guess it’s finally time. We are going to be playing in front of people. Out loud. While they watch.”
She giggles and her eyes move up from the floor to look at mine. The warm flush of seeing her smile doesn’t ease the panic, but makes it worth it.
“Yes, I guess we probably should play out loud even if they are going to watch us.” She keeps rocking back and forth, now pulling her sleeves down longer over her hands. However, she shrugs and her face scrunches up adorably. “But, seriously, they are going to be watching Rachel, right? I mean, she is the lead singer and, well… she looks like that. Who is going to be watching us with her right there? You know?”
My instincts pulls in two directions — one wanting to tell her how incredibly attractive she is as well and the other wanting to play along and comfort her worry. Safer to go with the second option.

I mentally respond. “Noted. Be right there.” I know I can say quite a bit more in my message, but what’s the point? There’s not even much of a reason to respond at all. Sniv knows what’s coming next.
The guards and this doorman, butler, or whatever the fuck he is, certainly don’t know what’s coming next, however.
I headbutt the fancy elf and feel his skull crack against my horns. I grab the true believer guard and slam him head first into his mercenary companion hard enough to knock the second one out. Two more slams of the true believer’s face into the door frame crushes his skull and ends that piece of shit’s life.
A sting in my left arm grabs my attention as one of the newly arriving guards manages to draw blood. I draw a fair bit more blood shoving true believer’s sword into her throat and then her sword into the heart of the next guard.
With five bodies dead or unconscious all in this entryway, it is a bit awkward, but the final two guards charge at me anyway. Two uppercuts plus two broken jaws full of shattered teeth equals two more guards out of the fight.
I climb over the pile and finally draw my axe.

The Betrayer Queen was still a sight both terrifying and strangely beautiful. She wore her adamantine breastplate that left all six of her well-muscled arms uncovered. If she stood like most common folk, she would be half a body taller than Digs, slightly surpassing ogres. However, her lower torso was not legs, but a thick, powerful serpentine coil that raised her height even higher.
The sides of her scalp were shaved and tattooed in intricate infernal symbols. Her thick hair, the color of blood, hung in tight braids the entire way down her back. The Betrayer Queen looked at the Liberty Children with those piercing, glowing red eyes and smiled. Despite the fact that every other aspect of this powerful being screamed that she could kill anyone here easily and brutally, Digs appreciated how her smile at the Liberty Children was always kind.

“Dignity! All of you and the Betrayer Queen are the targets! Her Majesty has left, and we need to leave. Now! That is how we help. We are not abandoning them, we are removing the target from this place. They will be safer with you gone.”
Rajak asked, “What about Motayu?”
Redsleeves said, “I’ll go find him, and then meet you. Hurry!” The gnoll ambled over to her walking chair and climbed into it.
Pyntal said, “I’ll go with her. We can’t leave anyone alone.”
Hope waved the others closer with a hand that still dripped blood from gaping wounds along her arms. With an arcane word, brilliant light surrounded them and the scene of carnage changed to a lovely sitting room.

“So, do you think they are gonna?” I ask.
AJ says, “Gonna what?” He squints and looks out the windshield at them. “Do you think they might kiss?!”
“My sweet, sweet, child. I’m expecting a lot more than that tonight. If your dad doesn’t screw it all up.”
Kyle and Katie hug, their faces buried in the necks of each other’s coats. Can’t tell from here if they’re making out, talking, or just keeping their noses warm. Annoying.
“Yeah,” AJ says. “To tell you the truth, I have no fucking clue what is going on with the two of them.”
I laugh. “You and me both, friend. Hopefully tonight, everyone can get some clarity. And Kyle can give her a birthday gift she won’t forget!”
“Dude, that’s my dad!”
“Dude, he’s had sex. If he hadn’t you wouldn’t exist. Deal with it.”
AJ rolls his eyes at me and then goes back to watching them. “They are hugging a really long time. What’s that mean?”
“Hurm, I don’t know. Hey, maybe we should drive away and force the issue!”
“That seems mean.”
“No, they’d be stranded in the cold. It’d be romantic!”
“She has a car and could drive him home. And they’d both be mad at me.”
They finally pull apart and Katie opens her door. I watch with nervous anticipation. But she goes inside while Kyle walks away.
"What the shit?!” I slap the dashboard in disgust. “Come on!”

I want to get closer to finishing before snipping and talking about it too much, but here's the (unedited) opening of my romance novella about two shipwrecked warlock familiars - a grumpy sprite and sunshine imp.

I crawled onto the sandy beach from the tankard that had been my salvation after the shipwreck. Sprites were meant to fly not swim and there was no way I could have flown this far in that storm. As it is, I floated through the night and much of the day under this miserable blistering sun.
At least I survived and was thankful for that. I needed to find if my mistress survived as well. She would be looking for her familiar.
I glanced over and my heart dropped into my feet. That annoying piece of shit imp was nearby shaking the sand off of his wings. Unfortunately, not only did he survive as well but washed up on the same beach as me.
He looked over, smiled that ridiculously big goofy grin, and actually waved at me.
“Fuck me.” I dropped my head to the sand and considered walking back out into the sea.

Another is Azzerrad Zane, my "mushroomfolk himbo". Again, this is inspiration art and not actually him. He'll be a bit more magic-based but I liked the idea of the buff mushroom man, and then gave it a fun spin of going full himbo.😂

The main cast were all born the day the city overthrew the Oppressor God. So they are honored at every annual Unification Day, which brings them together for the story. Another one is Pyntal Tilliwic, a deep gnome woman who left the city at age 5 but has returned now. (Art inspiration, not her)

The city itself is a megadungeon branching off of Godsfall Chasm, a mile-deep pit several hundred feet wide created by the fall of celestial that would create and rule over this place. I have a VERY crude rough portrayal of a cross-section.

My focus is Felcrown, a D&D-based fantasy adventure serialized story about a megadungeon that becomes a city (along with some rules-letting TTRPG setting material).

The story is an ensemble cast but early on focuses on Dignity "Digs" Dunandrien. A 21-year-old trans femme tiefling.

But I did want to point out this small moment of solidarity. Immigrants, trans folk, women, PoC, etc. etc. - there's many fronts, but it's *all one fight*.

We don't back down on anyone's rights.

We are on our last two songs and it is going amazing. This is one of the songs Rachel sets her guitar down and dances with Katie and I. Our performance is going so well, and I am feeling so good, that I let myself really enjoy Rachel dancing with — and even more delightfully — against me.
Part of my brain tries to make me feel like a creep, but it does not win this morning. Rachel is sexy and she is working hard to show off that sex appeal for the audience, and this one last time, I let myself really enjoy it, too.
As she grabs my tie and pulls my face to hers, I lock eyes with her, and considering how turned on I am right now and how she raises her eyebrows in surprise, I can imagine what the expression is on my face.
She winks, gives me a playful shove, and then saunters across the stage to Katie.
I do manage to only stare at her ass for a couple seconds before turning away. However, I cannot resist watching her dance with Katie. Rachel is certainly sexy, but Katie is the most gorgeous woman I have ever met. Watching the chemistry between the two of them is intoxicating beyond words.

He presses play again and thankfully it reaches the moment where Rachel rushes out and— Holy John Wick, Katie was right! Rachel goes completely ballistic on Bob the Bigoted Bathroom Cop faster than I knew anyone could move outside of movies. The low frame rate security camera struggles to capture it all.
Ned’s and my jaws both drop, and as much of a hurry as I am in, I do not mind when he rewinds the few seconds and plays it again at half speed. Even then it is still hard to follow her moves.
After our rewatch, Ned says reverently, “Fucking H Christmas, she sure beat the Hell outta him.”

Red’s father crouched on the ground examining his daughter’s work. “Hmm, down at the Boneyard, they assured me they were two of their best sets of ogre arms. We even measured to make sure they matched.”
There were some people that did not understand how they could treat the dead as a resource like this. That never made any sense to Redsleeves. Everyone’s bodies are merely meat-covered skeletons that carry our souls around. Once our lives were done and the soul moved on, it seemed a waste to throw all of that useful raw material away, especially for artificers like her family. It was like throwing away perfectly good clothes simply because they no longer fit rather than letting someone else benefit from them.
It was a wonderful moment when her da brought home the bones of two magnificent pairs of ogre arms for Red to improve her wheeling chair into a walking chair, better able to maneuver rough terrain. Simply because two ogre brothers got into an argument that escalated into them beating each other to death doesn’t mean Red shouldn’t benefit from their bones. Thankfully, they used something other than their fists to end each other’s lives, so the hand bones were still intact.
Red hoped their souls made peace after leaving their mortal memories in the plane of Aea, the Library Ever Lasting, and departed to their afterlives unburdened.

[Kyle, the POV, says] “No, I wouldn’t say that. But what I like about it is how different all of the alien races and their ships are. A lot of people don’t like it and point out it feels like they are from different movies, but I think that is really great! After all, whenever we do make contact with extraterrestrials, we have more in common with trees and octopi because of our evolutionary connection, than we would have with them.”
“I do not believe in evolution.”
I freeze at this unexpected revelation. I have no idea what to do with that info, so instead I stare at her with my jaw slack while holding my burrito halfway to my mouth.
She stares silently at me for a painful caesura before finally breaking into laughter. “I am kidding! The look on your face is hilarious!”
I shake my head at this adorable woman. “You are so mean to me! I welcome you into my home and this is how you treat me?”
