Had a nice snowshoe with the dogs - but the drive to Ironton, CO isn't for the weak willed! I've driven this pass more than a hundred times.

Snap peas are exploding and blooming this week!

Very unseasonably warm for this time of year, but the peas have been enjoying getting up to 84F in the greenhouse! 🌱🫛

It's been a cold week in the greenhouse, but the 🫛snap peas🌱 are growing like crazy! Great to see the bok choy popping up too.

Every year we get a permit to cut a tree in areas which need to be thinned for fire prevention. BLM sends out a map and restrictions, then you go find a tree!

Our neighbor is doing landscaping and left a bunch of junk and spare materials around on our property - clearly they didn't know where the line was. They just moved in!

I went over and was nice about it and walked away with some flagstone remnants I promptly installed in the chicken coop!! ♻️

It's been awhile but the desert growing season outside is finally over, so we have started the greenhouse 🌱🫛 for overwintering our next round of vegetables!

Wishing everyone an abundance this holiday season!

Proof of concept. We can grow saffron here!! 🌱🫛

There are only a dozen saffron farms in the USA and the price will skyrocket with global warming - if you live in a dry hot climate or anything similar to Iran you can absolutely grow this crocus, it's easy and doesn't require hardly any water!!

Doing the sand base for a chicken coop is the way to go. Cleaning the coop today felt like doing a zen garden!

Really enjoying the birds. The two minorcas still do not want to go back in the coop at night and I have to herd them back in!

The wyandottes are super scared of anything but the front porch, but the minorcas are first out each day!!

The minorcas don't care about the dogs either for some reason?

We just freeze them in a gallon freezer bag standing upright, give them respect for 48 hours in the freezer and they save like this

I have 4 pounds of tomatoes frozen for the winter, about a gallon of tomato paste, 8 jars of frozen spaghetti sauce, we gave away more than 100 POUNDS of tomatoes, and still the plants are producing!!

At this point I'm exhausted from picking tomatoes. We don't pick the micro minis anymore 🌱🫛
