American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

The honest, actual, serious plan of the Democratic leader in the Senate—who has actual leverage he can use right now, with blame falling on Republicans for it—is to wait for Republicans to save us, and therefore he has chosen to help Republicans out of a problem of their own making.
Schumer tells me Republicans might try to jam Democrats again in September, but thinks Trump will be less popular then and Republican appropriators might be more willing to stand up to him. He said they refused to do so now.

We just received word that the DOJ has begun removing data detailing criminal charges and convictions related to Trump loyalists. This started with records from the January 6th insurrection, but additional records are now being erased. We will keep you updated once we have more info.
