Hornet bounces off a Chorus Bug's head, as a number of others all peer upwards. Hornet herself is framed by the Citadel, towers and structures all reaching into the sky as they surround her with barbs and lace. Silk follows her, gathered from the bug she just bonked in the head, as she raises one claw and readies her needle with the other.

YOUR PORTFOLIO CRIT THINGS I'D TELL YOU IF I WERE LOOKING AT YOUR WORK IN PERSON 1 Violating the 180 degree rule makes this sequence hard to follow 2 A few more incidental overlaps will make this foreshortening clearer 3 Symmetrical compositions with a character dead center imply an important moment. Don't draw every panel like that? 4 This __ looks kind of fake. Take the time to look at reference instead of just making it up 5 An establishing shot will help the reader understand where this takes place. 6 Find a life-drawing session to attend, or practice from photos online. 7 Show these pages to someone who doesn't know the story and ask them to tell the story back to you. 8. Nudge this part over a bit to eliminate that tangency. 9 You flattened out the depth by rendering the foreground, middle ground, & background with the same values. Create depth and direct the eye by organizing them into overlapping planes of light & dark. 10 there are better ways to use your time than rendering every brick. 11 these characters look like they're floating (or falling). Draw figures and bg from the same eye level. 12 Unless this will be a wordless comic, leave more room for the lettering

Generally we think of alt-text as the domain of those with accessibility needs.

However alt-text is useful for many reasons, which benefit your viewers, as well as you, the creator!
An infographic. There are six panels. 1. "Slow internet. Alt text is shown in place of unloaded images." a drawing shows a phone with poor signal, and alt text is visible where the image should have loaded. 2. "Findabillity. Alt text helps to search content." A drawing shows someone searching 'dog with banana' and a post is shown underneath without the words 'dog' or 'banana'. It is implied to be part of the alt text. 3. "Screen readers. Alt is read out to people using text-to-speech software". There is a drawing of the output a screen-reader would show when viewing an image with alt text on bluesky. 4. "Translation. Alt text can be translated". A drawing shows a post being translated. The alt text is also translated into german. 5. "Readability. Text in images can be made legible" There is a drawing of some truly awful handwriting inside a speech bubble. The alt text clarifies what the text is supposed to say. 6. "Disambiguation. Description helps clarify intent." There is a drawing of a post with a picture of a creature. This is styled after the famous optical illusion of a rabbit and a duck. The alt text clarifies that the animal is a rabbit. It definitely looks more like a duck.

i think one of the most helpful things you can do actually is contribute $1-3 to someone consistently, every month, for years on end. i LOVE getting a $30 patron, believe me, but most people can't do that forever, and it does feel like a blow when they suddenly cancel (even though i get it) haha

Honestly the bare-bones Literally Nothing tier on a given artist's support platform might be the most powerful tier in how much it can help with how little of your money.
