It’s really great seeing the book starting to arrive with buyers…and their responses to it. Thank you Mark
Although it arrived yesterday, this afternoon was the first chance I’ve had to look at it - it is absolutely beautiful!!

As with every stage of the book design process, it’s all about conversation and collaboration. Marc and I chose a dark grey Brillianta cloth that contrasts and complements the Swiss-bound cover shades and the case lining—tones that echo those found in Marc’s work.
Details are very important to the design and construction of a photobook.
For The Edge of Ruin and the Swiss binding cloth, myself and designer @wayneford.co.uk chose a Wicotex Brillianta cloth from Winter & Company, whom have been making materials since 1892.

For me it's all about collaboration in photobook making and self publishing
Marc and I liked the Materica sheet so much, we used two further shades in the books production. Pitch for the case lining. And Ardesia for the Swiss-binding cover.
Like many of my books, the locations in The Edge of Ruin are researched in detail for the book.
Sometimes alongside the photographs, here in it’s own section at the back of the book, on beautiful 180gsm Materica Clay paper from GF Smith
