Democrats have spent my entire life “trying to prove they can govern well,” hoping that if they’re very good little boys and girls, daddy will finally hand them the car keys. Meanwhile they’re getting clocked by the party that tried to overthrow the government
They appear to have had some internal discussions where they decided overtures towards bipartisanship, proving they can government well, avoiding heated rhetoric with respect to Trump, and focusing on (yet again) things like prescription drug prices is the best electoral strategy.
