I was very skeptical of the Fitz hiring (and still am) but this news makes me a lot more optimistic. Getting a legend like Max back in the program while keeping on Rossi as someone who can show him the ropes as a DC is about as smart of a move as you can hope for

After thinking it over, this is the bracket I expect. I disagree but believe the committee will try to avoid penalizing Bama for losing their championship, while telling the ACC to fix their shit

I'm surprised that Fitz didn't either make a splash hire (which I would have liked) or bring in one of "his guys" (which I would have hated) & instead decided to retain Rossi. I don't hate the idea as I feel he was making the best of a bad talent situation the last 2 years. Now announce coach Hawk!

Keep coming back to this. Anything that's talking themselves into boneheaded hire should look at the Northwestern fans laughing with glee. Fitzgerald has been propped up by playing the B1G West for years and I look forward to the donors having to eat their words and buy him out in 2 to 4 years again
I seriously have no idea why you’d hire Pat Fitzgerald. He wasn’t a playcaller or strategic mind, his whole schtick was selling Northwestern Culture because he played there, and then it turns out that culture featured a brutal atmosphere of sexual hazing
