The Trump administration halted funding for a national database that tracked domestic terrorism, hate crimes, and school shootings, as part of broad cuts to violence prevention programs. The move eliminated a critical resource designed to enhance public safety amid persistent and pressing threats.

They not only shared highly classified information on a private messaging app, but they also presumably did so on private unsecured phones--phones that are highly likely to be of interest to our adversaries. People have spent years in jail for far less.
