One of our neighbors, who always has a yard PACKED with Christmas lightups, has his yard set up already! We stopped by for a photo & he came out to say hi, since he knows Tallie.

Such a fun Thanksgiving Eve chat with a neighbor- we thanked him for making our evening walk so bright & fun 💜
At night, a front yard is packed with glowing holiday decorations—string lights outlining the walkway, inflatable snowmen and Christmas trees, and a large Snoopy-in-a–Santa-hat figure on a lit “Happy Holidays” mailbox post—while a fluffy black-and-white sheltie dog on a leash sits in the dark foreground.

she got her stitches out today!!!!! but her paw is still kind of raw, thanks to her cone escape Wednesday night, so she has at least a few more days until it fully heals.
But omg, the stitches are out. There is light at the end of the tunnel!!

When you get a break from the cone for a walk

Our neighborhood's plant nursery had a professional photographer in to do free holiday dog photos & we went, and.... well....

We (had) gotten the best results with a harness with a front and back leash attachment point.
1. thread ribbon through front loop
2. pull it up, and thread it through the loops on the bottom of the cone, meeting at the back of the neck
3. tie off on back leash attachment point

Oh yeah, our vet is well aware. When she got spayed, even super drugged up, she kept escaping while recovering at the vet, so the techs had to try to jury rig a lashing system with strips of gauze to keep her cone on by attaching it to her harness. So yeah, they know....

Because it's just a great morning over here, Tallie got her cone off overnight (How??!?) and spent the night licking the stitches on her paw. 😭
She is totally unrepentant. Look at this, snoozling away with no cares while I text photos to the vet and freak out.

Last year I read 101 books. I'm at 75 with 6 weeks left to 2025 right now. 🫣

(still doing way better than the years in law school, when I averaged about 30. Obviously not counting casebooks/study guides/other boring school reading.)

that's actually not really her thickest coat, she wasn't a year old there. it takes > 2 years for a sheltie coat to really grow in. 😅

Poor Tallie had to have follow up surgery on her paw after the one we had in June. She's definitely on the good drugs but send her all the ear scritches & good luck 💙

Possibly local print shops? Although you'd likely have to do the design and layout yourself. I agree it's really frustrating that they all do this now. We've used Simply to Impress for Tallie XMas cards for years & now... 😒

Tallie and I are still finding dahlias on our walks! So happy they're sticking around.

Also we only got about 2 more hours than you.... Dan had to get up at 5 to go pilot a transcon for Alaska, so if he's up, then Tallie *has* to get up (because breakfast could be served!) and that woke me up. 😒☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕
