Within a 10min chat with a neighbour she managed to complain that the UK is too tiny for all these migrants but also say that most of Scotland is empty & desolate of people 🤷‍♂️

BREAKING: The Home Office is giving police new powers to restrict repeat protests like pro-Palestine marches.

Police can consider the ‘cumulative impact’ of protests on an area and could ban the protest / force it to move elsewhere.

Meanwhile I've volunteered in political activism for no pay, I've taken Gàidhlig evening classes, I make a living as an artist creating abstract renditions of Scottish landscapes.

"Farage doesn't like Britain" is a far cry from the desperately needed rebuttal to Farage's poisonous racism. By engaging in the far right's ultranationalist rhetoric of blind love of country, Starmer is kicking the door wide open to Reform Government without meaningful opposition.

You love your country by enacting policies that lift people out of poverty, that protect women from violent men in their own homes, that ensure schoolchildren have healthy meals, that redistribute wealth from top to bottom and strengthen social solidarity and cohesion. Scotland thrives because people choose to make it their home. Migration isn’t something to fear, it’s the lifeblood of our communities and keeps our cities alive, our towns dynamic, and our society forward-looking. It’s one of Scotland’s greatest assets and we should be celebrating that!

If Labour goes through this madness of forced volunteering for immigrants, I feel like we should create a pro-Scottish independence charity solely aimed at migrants who want to contribute towards Scotland's democracy whilst simultaneously telling the UK Gov to get stuffed

And not just me: when my husband is not working as a dentist, seeing dozens of patients p/ week, he's volunteering his free time at a band in Edinburgh for no pay where they do many community events, lighten up places w/ Christmas carols and more.

Migrants already volunteer and contribute so much.
