We share the history of Whitchurch Hospital in Cardiff. It was a Mental Health Hospital as well as a military hospital during both World Wars.

As Strictly returns tomorrow, we’re looking at this lovely dance card, complete with pencil! It was marked at the Cardiff Grocer’s Association’s 2nd Annual Ball on 13 January 1897.

The card is part of the papers of the Benjamin Family of Penarth, who had links with the grocery business locally.

💚 This month marks 100 years since the UK’s first qualified occupational therapist, Margaret Barr Fulton took up a post in Aberdeen.

107 yrs ago Horatio Ellis Evans killed in Salonika, Greece. He was treated at the Hospital in 1916 & awarded the Military Medal.
On recovering, re-posted overseas & killed in action - 17th September 1918
