You’ll notice the ‘Joe Cool’ in Japanese pin on my hat..my Dawgs weren’t too cool last night! Oh well, the boys had a good season, at least we beat (FINALLY!) BAMA in the SEC Championship game!

Those are great…and I’ve been obsessed with Snoopy for almost 60 years!

I have that same one, love it for the same reason..and I was born in ‘63. Also love this other one pictured here, it’s even smaller; your probably aware of this but you’ll notice the Everyman chapter is missing a chapter (Postscript) as the English edited it out of their original publication of MD!

I just finished one on the Imperial Japanese Navy and currently reading an excellent book on the Monarch butterfly migration. After that it’s on to a book about this Confederate officer who was Jim Henson’s great grandfather; I’m all over the map!

The film was perfect, love the books of course. If ever in San Diego you must see the ship used in the film, I was in heaven that day!

Have heard good things about ‘The Wager’, need to get it. Any fan of the O’Brian books would LOVE this one, a great favorite of mine and I’ve read all the Aubrey/Hornblower books so I’m a huge fan of the genre.

My wife’s last day of work was today, I’m jealous but really happy for her, she deserves a nice long retirement, over 20 years service as a special needs teacher. Can’t wait to retire myself! This was the crew at Thanksgiving, had a great time.

That looks phenomenal! For some years now I’ve been obsessed with the Imperial Japanese Navy, just endlessly fascinating. Would love to find an English bio of this officer, Admiral Shinjiro Yamamoto. Aide to both Togo and Hirohito, veteran of Tsushima and the Boxer Rebellion, devout Catholic as well

There’s a great model of her in Calabash NC, would love to know how old it is, who built it…and how much they would sell it for!

Your most welcome, your book needs to be widely known and I do what I can to get it out as much as I can to my fellow naval history buffs and readers. Looking forward to this new book, looks to be an interesting retelling of Moby Dick…my favorite book!

As someone who is obsessed with the Imperial Japanese Navy( currently reading ‘Kaigun’, amazing book) I was surprised to discover this sub culture and as you said, it’s sanctioned by the current JMSDF and Togo’s flagship Mikasa( the below pictures are from the Mikasa). It’s different for sure!
