It seems objectively bananas

I was curious to know if there was any sort of argument on the other side, even a weak one.
I consider myself below average in such matters and it seems unequivocal and obvious to me.

How on earth could that not be the case?
Does anyone argue that this is n the case? Using what logic?

Meta, without cracking up at the gag, complained that having to obey the law in some countries, but not yet in others, undermina the borderless EU single market.

also the guy who says he killed Osama bin Laden. very illustrious career!
Fox News has faced ridicule online for repeatedly interviewing masked "guests" - supposedly a "former Antifa member," an "ex-gang member, and others - who all appear to have the same build, eyes, and voice, leading viewers to suspect it's the same man each time.
Internet sleuths recently compared screenshots and suggested the mystery guest resembles Robert J. O'Neill, the former Navy SEAL who claims to have fired the kill shot on Osama bin Laden.
O'Neill, who's been a frequent Fox News contributor and commentator for years, has a long history of appearances on the network. The recurring use of masked figures resembling him has sparked fresh criticism of Fox's credibility and its penchant for sensational, poorly vetted segments.

The UK Conservative Party has a cunning plan to win back voters-
- by threatening to remove their human rights safeguards
- by threatening to removed their social security safety net
- by threatening to destroy their environment by overturning their own environmental policies.

Dear journalists,
Please provide some context when reporting on politicians threatening to leave the ECHR - instead of “Badenoch threatened to leave the ECHR“ say “Badenoch threatened to join Russia and Belarus in leaving the ECHR“

Trump wants lies and hate to be protected? I’m shocked. Shocked!
Unlike the US, where free speech is only a constitutional right, freedom of expression is already protected as a *fundamental* right in the EU and, separately, the CoE region.

FWIW I've written to the Irish Minister for Justice - an enthusiastic supporter of Europe's hideous "chat control" phone-scanning proposal - asking him to imagine when that technology is used against him.

If you're German, please, PLEASE write to your justice/interior minister today.

📣 Germany's close to reversing its opposition to mass surveillance & private message scanning, & backing the Chat Control bill. This could end private comms-& Signal-in the EU.

Time's short and they're counting on obscurity: please let German politicians know how horrifying their reversal would be.

We are alarmed by reports that Germany is on the verge of a catastrophic about-face, reversing its longstanding and principled opposition to the EU’s Chat Control proposal which, if passed, could spell the end of the right to privacy in Europe. signal.org/blog/pdfs/ge...

It is bizarre that the far right do everything to cause chaos, in order to then present themselves as the solution to chaos- and get away with it!

Commission President Ursula von der Leyen faces her second round of no-confidence votes in less than three months next week. Opposition is mounting, but centrist lawmakers are expected to choose stability over ousting her.
Could von der Leyen really lose confidence vote? Here’s what the numbers say.
POLITICO’s projections show the Commission chief will survive Thursday’s no-confidence votes — though disapproval of her leadership is growing.
