“Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.”
- Desmond Tutu
This photo is a composite of the night sky with fireflies in the foreground. The star trails create a semi-circle with center near the top of the frame. The sky is purplish near the horizon. Some of the star trails are blue.

The fireflies flashes make paths across the ground and up into the sky. There are trees in the background. The photo has a quote on the left side:

“Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.” - Desmond Tutu

This text is underneath the quote.

Last night at Mt. Princeton hot springs, near Buena Vista Colorado. Clouds doing wild dances, just like people at the Ayla Nereo concert

Regardless of if you celebrate the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival, the Harvest Moon, or just making it through the day, every night we see is another one our enemies wish we hadn't.

Here's tonight's #FullMoon rising.

I hope if you have some clear skies you can look up and smile tonight. ❤️

The first rays of sunlight illuminating this ridge above Silverton, Colorado last Saturday were striking.

Soft sunrise light rakes across a rounded alpine peak, highlighting golden ridges and casting deep blue shadows on the surrounding mountains under a moody sky.

Six weeks ago, I picked up a year-old tawny owl with a broken leg off the main road near our home and dropped him off at our nearest vet.

After a few days, I received one of the most bizarre phone calls I’ve ever had, asking “So when are you coming to pick up your owl?” 🧵

Maybe I'm a cynic but when my insurance company emails me asking "Why choose virtual urgent care?" the first answer that pops into my mind is "So I'll die before an actual ER visit and boost their profits".

Sept 28-29, 2025 #timelapse from Crestone, Colorado USA

There are flashes of lightning to the west that illuminate this view of the east. There's also a hint of northern lights bottom left around the 1:40 mark.

Every few months or so, I remind myself I once saw a leucistic Anna’s hummingbird with my bare eyes just so I don’t forget about him
