I read. I knit. I put two spaces after periods and colons. I kind of want to move to Canada or Sweden or Iceland (no mosquitoes!), but I also don't want to be one of "The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas."

FootClothes is a sock company that makes fun socks that fit a large range of sizes. When they say one size fits most, they actually mean it.* They unfortunately suffered a major blow recently when the unit next to theirs had a chemical fire that damaged a lot of their inventory. footclothes.com

We are kind of baby preppers. Zombies, aliens, whatever, we want our family to be as ready as we can be. But even reading *Time of the Fourth Horseman* didn't prepare me for our government helping the apocalypse along. Are they stupid, or is this on purpose?

I find this very funny (which I say without a hint of laughter in my voice), because *Fiddler on the Roof* is about Ukrainian Jews who are oppressed by Russia.

Also, he wasn't supposed to be immortal. That's not what we asked for (at least, I sure didn't).

Driving out to my in-laws on Saturday, I had WXRT on the radio. It was a decades weekend, with 70s music Friday, 80s on Saturday, and 90s on Sunday. Johnny Mars was on mid-afternoon, and he played song after song after song that I sang along and car-danced to, embarrassing the kids no end, I bet.

Would this be a good time to admit that I call him President Zelensexyy? I know I shouldn't reduce people to their looks (and I try not to, really), but damn, that man is so easy to look at. Add on the integrity and coolheadedness in the face of stupid bullies, and I'm weak in the knees.

Friday is my usual grocery shopping day, but we did the boycott/blackout. I'm still not convinced it'll have much effect, but it certainly wouldn't if no one did it.

When I saw the disgusting "trump Gaza" video this morning, the bile rose to my throat.

I won't share it. Instead, help me promote this counter narrative by Tala, from Gaza.

"Gaza is not yours to take. Gaza is ours, and we are still here. This is our land."

BRAVO to her strength and DEFIANCE. 🥹💪

Are We Now the Bad Guys?

Go read Small Peculiar. It's good.

I did not call a senator yesterday, but I did send an e-mail to my Congressman, Darin LaHood, GQP, that Grace and I thought was non-partisan in tone and well reasoned. I asked for a response. We'll see if I get one.

This is a very good breakdown of just what the Fucking Moron can actually do with his executive orders.

Just remember, regardless of any legal effect they do or don't have, they are emboldening assholes to do what they do best. Be careful out there.

I had carpal tunnel surgery yesterday, ridiculously early in the morning. When I was done, I went to the waiting room to get Grace. I noticed two women sitting near her, one wearing a shirt that said, "I'm just a woman who loves Jesus and America." I just kept walking past.

The acronym for President Musk's vanity project is doge. And there's no way I'm gonna call it that. None. So I was going to call it doggy. Grace said, "That's insulting to dogs; you should call it Doogie." I thought that was insulting to Neil Patrick Harris, and I quite like him.
