-Stats that don’t actually do anything (Final Fantasy 16)
-Costumes are mainly DLC and not unlockable (Tales of series lately)

My least favorite modern RPG tropes:
* 2 hours of exposition at the start of the game
* Dungeons that are just long linear corridors
* 30 bajillion quest markers (aka Ubisoft syndrome)
* Saving all the challenging fights for endgame
* Walking slowly behind an NPC while they give more exposition
