Fascists are desperate for violent disruption they can use an excuse for state violence and power grabs.

They have trouble with mockery, goofiness, and fun.

That holds across just about every type of authoritarianism. They like being feared for cruelty. They hate being laughed at and humiliated.

These two. Sleeping together in the backseat of the Volkswagen Beetle. Since they were kittens we've let them into the garage and into the cars to play at night and they've come to feel very safe and ensconced in their quiet, vehicular lairs.

Only the second time out on my "Fish 'n Dive" sit-on-top kayak that I bought for a song on FB Mktplc whilst nursing a broken ankle. It's comfortable and roomy and handles well and is ridiculously stable - hence the ability to fish 'n/or dive from it. Big recommend for inland lakes and calm bays.

Hidden gem nearby. It was quite a windy and wavy day on the lake but this lagoon is protected by a circle of trees. When we take people here they just instinctively fall silent with reverence.
