it's really jarring to see how little media attention the assassination of Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark and their dog Gilbert received in comparison to the notable death of a non-elected leader of a right-wing organization.

Kicking off Climate Week NYC with @johnmoralestv.bsky.social & @climatecentral.org's Bernadette WP!

I've got over 40 events this week with the Climate Group, Global Citizen, AMNH, the UN & more -- but I've stocked up on chocolate + I’m ready to go!

Are you at CW too? What are you most excited for?

Evidently, the climate crisis is global. For some it is an existential crisis. For others, a business opportunity. I wish the NYT covered the second group. The crisis is not just happening, it is being done to us by omission and intention.

The dismissal of National Climate Assessment authors this week and notice that its scope is being "reevaluated" leaves the door open to a compromised report serving fossil fuel interests at the cost of American communities.

I talked to John Vause about this concern on CNN International last night.

I could be wrong about this but I really think most Americans do not want to be forced to “do their own research” about food & drug & product safety and would rather that the government agencies that have been sorting that all out for them for decades not be obliterated in the name of “efficiency.”

I just landed in San Salvador a little while ago, and I look forward to meeting with the team at the U.S. embassy to discuss the release of Mr. Abrego Garcia.

I also hope to meet with Salvadoran officials and with Kilmar himself. He was illegally abducted and needs to come home.

The Smart People said "Abolish ICE" was too radical. Then ICE kidnapped students, sent innocent people to a mega prison, broke into a car to take a mom from her daughter, and tried questioning elementary kids while lying that they had parents permission.

Ask yourself: which part is more "radical"?
