the don cesar is iconic and pink and a lovely place to walk out of the resort and straight onto the most beautiful sand in the world and sit down at sunset and subtly caress your arch rival’s thumb

most realistic scenario is that they’re staying at a Hilton in downtown Tampa close to the arena, which is lovely but you can’t walk down to the sugar sand from the hotel. in my dreams they’re staying at the Don Cesar on St. Pete Beach

this may just be a thing of the author not understanding Tampa geography, because it’ll take at least 40 minutes to get from a st. Pete resort to the hockey arena in Tampa

the book describes it as a beachfront resort, which immediately makes me think the hotel is in St. Petersburg since Tampa itself is bayfront, not really beachfront. to get a good beachfront hotel you have to go over the bay to St. Petersburg
