there's frost up in the mountains. temps dipping into the 30s with some regularity already. I remember being a kid up there and not having heat in my bedroom. I remember not being able to get warm until our LIHEAP grant processed.
Those benefits were delayed until the shutdown is over.

I remember when this time of year levelled me because of the back to back loss anniversaries that come up. I wasn't prepared for the shift this year in realizing so much of the grief I've carried has been for shitty people... who I loved deeply.

Florence and the Machine's new album is going to get me through this week. Sympathy Magic moved something so soft in my soul. the whole album is everything I hoped it would be and then some.

Made pumpkin spice syrup, dark brown sugar syrup, and some strawberry jam for a friend who hates both.
this morning's iced chai with some of the pumpkin was incredible, so pleased with how they came out.
