Lowk kinda hate that my grandmother taught me to speak the way I do.
Any time I was around my father, it was all AAVE. But when I went back home she would correct me incessantly. I know it was her way of protecting me, but it really comes down to one thing that’s inherently problematic:

I park under a tree, so every so often I get a small jumping spider in my car. I don’t mind. It came out while I was driving with my partner and I began urging it to get out of my field of vision so I could drive fine. My partner suggested I kill it, to which I said “no!! Why would I do that?”
