Soft left(ie), former Labour staffer, and a tech/climate nerd who follows US politics a lot for a Brit. He/him + 🏳️‍🌈.
Mentioning it partly as if your house is badly sealed it might slightly mitigate the huge amount of pollution fires release, though not by that much, but also low-key been in "is it preachy to mention this to a mutual?" vs. "she has kids so are you obliged to check she's aware?" mode for a while.

Even the newest supposedly clean burning wood stoves have been found to still emit a fuckton of pollution inside, alongside what ends up outside. Open fires are the most dangerous though. Can suggest possible air quality sensors if you're interested in monitoring it.

..though as I’m also a bit of an air quality nerd, this reminded me that I should probably ask if you’re aware that the fire I’ve seen you refer to a few times, is incredibly bad for air quality? To be blunt, especially if I had kids, I would never be okay using one, they're terrible for health.

Though as an energy efficiency nerd I feel obliged to say that improving the insulation and airtightness would likely be much better, better environmentally, save $, and done well (especially if you get to airtightness levels where you use energy recovery ventilation) you won’t have mould issues.

ICYMI, though if you've got a ducted heating system, while there are some potential pitfalls with them and you have to maintain them, @techconnectify.bsky.social has a video about whole house humidifiers.

A good humidifier keeps your home’s moisture levels comfortable without overdoing it or making a mess.

It's more whether the pasture is a place, a concept, a person, or some combination etc.

Legit think that would work for you as a line on Grindr, though guys might be confused about the "common pasture" thing.

It's always fun when you make a facial expression you can really feel yourself making..

..do you think Renault is a German company?
January 14, 2026 at 9:22 PM
I mean, they're faster, have a better ride, are much cheaper to run, don't emit any pollution, and don't waste around 70-80% of the energy you pay for to run them, but sure..
