Maybe I'm daft (that's what y'all say right?) but Labrador breed size = small mammoth the size of a lab. Mammoth sized dog breed was never defined so could be any dog breed. I'm just clarifying the breed of the mammoth sized dog and there's only so many characters I'm allowed on this platform 😬

But a mammoth sized lab vs a mammoth sized chihuahua are very different things. The temperament is the biggest variable (for me).

So if labs are the constant I'd totally go mammoth sized dog. I love labs. But lab sized mammoth vs mammoth sized chihuahua I'd go with the lab sized mammoth instead.

Is the mammoth sized dog also a Labrador?

And it all goes back to math (as everything eventually does).

20/20, many of them as an adult 😅

Oh man, my favorite math professor in undergrad was Persian. He retired a few years back which is making me feel old 😅

I married a northern girl but now that she's been down here for a couple of decades she doesn't want to go back to NY/MA winters. I'm sure I'd adjust if it was the other way around though. But farm chores below freezing is no fun 🥶

One of these days we'll do it for sure, I'm totally interested! For now we'll "settle" with cheese and ice cream 😅

My algebra teacher taught us the quadratic formula to the tune of "pop goes the weasel" and I've never forgotten it and now you won't either

"x equals negative b plus or minus the square root of b squared minus 4ac all over 2a"

Oh we definitely have plenty of cheese as well 😅 bsky.app/profile/wpie...
3ish gallons of milk yielded us 6ish lbs of chevre, gotta keep up with these goats!🐐🥛🧀🍽️

Not yet. Separating the cream from the milk can be quite cumbersome by hand, and the machines are pretty expensive. It's on the list though!

Thank you ❤️

Thank you, seriously ❤️

My spouse and I have been supporters of our local stations since before we married in 2011. PBS/NPR do great work at both the local and national level. And personally I've developed relationships with local reporters & hosts because of their involvement with the community.

Damn I'm seeing my typo now too... Guitar not guy 🙃

But to your point, if I can't make music then what else is there? Hopefully things will be better in the next decade or so. But if not, we'll still make art. How can we not?
December 15, 2025 at 3:27 AM
Yeah below 0F is no fun. Luckily no pipes burst but I was under the house with a hair dryer attached to an extension cord trying to get things thawed. 🥶 I'm a southern boy, give me 100F and humidity (and collards that don't bolt in June).

Had a similar thing happen a while ago. I'm like my dude, I'm colorblind, I lean HEAVILY on an instant read meat thermometer so I don't serve undercooked food to my babies. People are assholes.

I've been in various parts of VA since 1999 and once I've seen/felt it drop below 0°F and holy shit was that cold
December 15, 2025 at 1:35 AM
That's like a decade and a half away. Will I even be alive then? And if so, will my fingers be able to play the guy or piano anymore? 😅
December 15, 2025 at 1:24 AM
Better!
December 15, 2025 at 12:59 AM
Don't trash it!

Plus, Steve's had MANY more years of practice...

Math and music always made sense to me. My ADHD brain loves the patterns and structure of both. Good on you for going back to learn more after college. It really is beautiful, almost an art form itself.

And where we live right now we're able to see launches from Wallops Island from our front yard. It's always so cool when we launch shit to leave our planet. Like, the amount of collective brain power to figure out how to do that. And yet here we are as a society...
December 14, 2025 at 11:45 PM
Damn, Steve. That's some good work. Well done.
