Just southeast of downtown
“but how do you enforce the Constitution?” John said.

They sat for a minute.

“You drive around,” John said.

“You drive around the neighborhood with a friend and make the best decisions you can,” Sam agreed.
The Battle for Minneapolis
As Donald Trump brings his retribution to a liberal city, citizens, protesters, and civic leaders try to protect one another.

The latest video I saw shows an ICE agent carrying away Alex‘s gun, then discharging it into the ground as the first shot.

The question on my mind: did he do it on purpose to trigger his buddies?

The first professional police force in the US began in 1838 in Boston. In 1854 only three cities had police forces: NYC, Philly, and Boston.
Attorney General Pam Bondi: "Our country was founded on law enforcement"
Bondi: "It's extremely organized. The signs they have are all matching, they're well written. And look at what's happening today. How did these people go out & get gas masks? These protesters. Would you know how to walk out on the street and buy a gas mask? Think about that. We're not gonna have it"

Very interesting peace on a contrary thinker and his war game/simulation for the end of the Republic. Gift article.

Also:

"The White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson provided a statement attacking The Atlantic when she was asked about Trump's plans."

Kudos for not printing their garbage.

Pray you once more,
Is not your father grown incapable
Of reasonable affairs? Is he not stupid
With age and alt’ring rheums? Can he speak? Hear?
Know man from man? Dispute his own estate?
Lies he not bed-rid? And again does nothing
But what he did being childish?

The usual good politico-historical insights from Kagan. I was struck by this excerpt:

'[for Trump] the world is not a “global community,” but “an arena where actors engage and compete for advantage"'

and I think it applies to his domestic politics as well. So much for electing a “businessman".
America vs. the World
President Trump wants to return to the 19th century’s international order. He will leave America less prosperous—and the whole world less secure.

It’s one thing to boil a frog in water. It’s quite another to tear gas the frog, beat it with clubs, and kill the frog‘s wife.

I appreciate that @kairyssdal.bsky.social takes greatt care to keep his personal political views under wraps on Marketplace. But i noticed tonight he put his toe just over the line reporting on Chairman Powell.

I think this is entirely correct, given that Trump is putting his fist over the line.

Not to be a bummer, but let’s say in November we win the House and the Senate +3. Still can’t remove him or Noem. He’d veto any bills.

In fact, he’s doing so little via Congress, such a victory may be merely symbolic.

Solution remains in the streets.

So a CBS Evening News reporter actually did a pretty solid breakdown of the ICE murder video, talking to a former agent who details all the ways Ross messed up. And yet: It didn’t air on the actual show tonight. CBS did post it to YouTube—and it has nearly 800k views already youtu.be/6ywLEESFDu0?...

It’s insane to me that those on the right can look at the videos of Renee and say, “Well it’s her fault, she should have complied”.

And then say cops murdered Ashli Babbit.

Let’s translate ICE‘s definition of a “domestic terrorist“:

Domestic=has a 6-year old at home
Terrorist=looked at me

We need to occupy the capital.
