Uncovering the Silence: The Inspiration Behind The Girl Without a Voice by Sandra J. Paul I was asked to share what inspired me to write this particular story. Each of my books begins with a simple idea, usually a “what-if” moment that lodges itself in my mind and refuses to let go. The Girl Without a Voice was no different. Sometimes, I sit with an idea for months or even years.

As we've mentioned before, listening to authors (or reading articles by them) will help you create your own process - that might be plotting, or writing organically, or a mixture of the two.

As a member of the Romantic Novelist Association (RNA), I was aware that they have a 3-day conference in London every second year. But not everybody has the time or the money for a 3-day conference, so this year the RNA asked members if they would be interested in a one-day event, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. And so ‘The Summer Fling’ was devised.
