I write (novels mostly) and play a lot of games (DnD and many others). I'm also a professional chef sometimes (only when I really feel like it). I like to run long distances and eat a ton of food afterwards. Maybe you can relate.

I am apoplectic about this. The first thing you say about Ted Bundy is that he killed women, and then if you really feel like it you can talk about how charming he was or whatever. The first thing you say about RFK is that he’s pro-measles.

It doesn't. It hasn't in film, TV or video games for decades (it never had it in video games) and on the literary side of things it's had a real glow-up in this century. Science fiction (and even more, fantasy) is absolutely mainstream culture now.
Why does science fiction still have a stigma on it? It often reflects real world issues, which you would think the literary world would be all over.
