A moment I still remember from undergad classes: in a discussion section for first quarter QM, another student complained that she was tired of the harmonic oscillator. The TA said, "I have some bad news," and then turned and wrote on the board:

We’re going to damage American competitiveness for a generation.

We’re eroding our standard of living so the richest people ever to live can pay even less in taxes.
BREAKING:
The NIH summer internship program (SIP) has been officially cancelled, across all institutes.

It’s a sad loss for the brightest science students in America, for American science, and for future cures for diseases like cancer and Alzheimer’s. 🧪 1/
NIDA has announced it, but all the NIH summer internship programs are likely cancelled.

Sorry college students interested in STEM jobs, sorry high school students looking at science 🧪 careers. Trump and Musk are cancelling your futures.

WE JUST GOT DOGE’D

no funding for this year. We have to cancel the program and email 450 applicants there will be no REU program in physics at MSU.

First time in 20+ years.

I’m fucking livid, y’all.
Ours seems like it might be. We’re in limbo. I wrote my rep about it. 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

Just in time for Christmas!
Great to see that our book is finally out in RSC Soft Matter Series on Active Colloids

If you want to learn more about how active colloids move and can be designed, this is a great starting point.
