Let’s go!
Democrats should host Empty Chair Town Halls in GOP districts, publicly invite absent Republicans, spotlight neglected local crises, elevate constituent voices, stream widely, and drive home: We show up. They hide. They serve Trump. We serve you. The seat’s empty. Your needs aren’t.

AOC is the only elected official who walks into Congress like it’s a battlefield, armed with facts, common sense, and zero patience for BS.

Fearless, sharp, and always ten steps ahead—exactly what politics needs.

And that’s why they are terrified of her!

The analogy is precise. And the White House response was nasty and disingenuous. This will be a major test of the courts – I think that they will pass it; but it is fundamental. I’ll have an article up on this at @thenewrepublic.bsky.social shortly plus a longer Substack on @talkingfeds.bsky.social
Having served as a Moscow correspondent in the early days of Putin's reign, this reminds me of how the Kremlin took over its own press pool and made sure that only compliant journalists were given access.

Had a conversation with a non political person whose buddy works for the forest service and was 10 months into his job supplying hard to reach parts of a national forest and was fired. The guy talking to me was like “I don’t really think my buddy’s $50,000 salary is gonna balance the budget.”
most people know someone who works for the federal government in some capacity

and even the assholes who think all federal employees are moochers tend to make a personal exception for their buddy Jim

everyone is going to hear stories of how cruel and capricious this is
im probably just being optimistic but it feels more and more like this strategy of rather indiscriminately and smugly firing a shitload of Americans who serve their country and don’t do political jobs will probably just start pissing off ppl who don’t pay attention to politics.

Office of Special Counsel: "The probationary terminations at issue in this matter appear to have been effectuated in a manner inconsistent with federal personnel laws."
Oversight agency finds Trump’s federal worker firings unlawful, asks for some employees to be reinstated
The findings could have sweeping impacts for the tens of thousands of recently dismissed workers.

The US voted *with* Russia against the UN resolution condemning the invasion of Ukraine and demanding a withdrawal.

Utter betrayal of country, allies, and principles.

I work in data. There is no hidden data that Elon needs to crack the code to get. If they have access to the data, they will see it all. These algorithms he's building into the system are not helping every day Americans. Whatever he is doing, it's with malicious intent.

NEW: Macron has to interrupt Trump and correct a lie about Europe’s contribution.

TRUMP: “Europe is loaning the money to Ukraine. They get their money back."

MACRON: “No. We provided real money. To be clear.”

Trump clearly not used to get fact-checked live.
