Having served as a Moscow correspondent in the early days of Putin's reign, this reminds me of how the Kremlin took over its own press pool and made sure that only compliant journalists were given access.

Had a conversation with a non political person whose buddy works for the forest service and was 10 months into his job supplying hard to reach parts of a national forest and was fired. The guy talking to me was like “I don’t really think my buddy’s $50,000 salary is gonna balance the budget.”

im probably just being optimistic but it feels more and more like this strategy of rather indiscriminately and smugly firing a shitload of Americans who serve their country and don’t do political jobs will probably just start pissing off ppl who don’t pay attention to politics.

I work in data. There is no hidden data that Elon needs to crack the code to get. If they have access to the data, they will see it all. These algorithms he's building into the system are not helping every day Americans. Whatever he is doing, it's with malicious intent.
