Just another person escaping the X binfire. Left wing, and most of the assumptions you’ve just made about that are true. He/him. Otrovert.
The equalisation of parental leave is pro-women because it means that employers are less likely to discriminate against women on the grounds that they are more likely to take time off to raise kids than men are.

But it’s small beer compared to the rest of the f*ckery.

Indeed. Labour are losing because they failed to heed the most basic and well understood guidance that you do not fight a war on two fronts if you can possibly help it.

By almost completely vacating the left of the field, they have opened up two fronts, so are now losing on both.

They need to decide whether they are going to defect soon. Some are certainly thinking about it, but I’ve pointed out to a few that if they leave until after Gorton & Denton, or even the local elections, it begins to look more like self-preservation than principle.

Yes. My Labour MP is good - Simon Opher - solid on everything from Gaza to trans rights to the benefit cap and disabled benefits, but he’s the sweetcorn in the excrement that Billy Bragg once described in relation to Tories. Integrity technically maintained, but mired in shite.

I mean, it could be sensible, but only for a limited number of powerful people.

Labour govern as corporatists, with some specific mitigations. Some protections against the worst excesses if they can, but primarily beholden to corporations and capital.

That’s because the scale of evil that they have also perpetrated makes these things look insignificant.

When you are facilitating a genocide and attacking the fabric of democracy by arresting peaceful protestors as terrorists, it makes adjustments to parental leave regs feel a mite less important.

“Just give us your vote and then fuck off for five years, plebs!”
February 1, 2026 at 12:01 PM
It’s not petty. It’s fundamental. Imperial, Zionist, corporatist bullshit larping as progressive against an actual social democratic party.

Disabling replies and quote posts. Stunning how many Labour politicians want to have nothing to do with the people they purport to speak for.

She’s a corporate PR lobbyist. Of course her email talks a good game.
February 1, 2026 at 11:54 AM
Delivering for her corporate paymasters as a lobbyist, perhaps…
February 1, 2026 at 11:52 AM
No, she hasn’t - she’s been a lobbyist for big business. That’s her day job.
February 1, 2026 at 11:51 AM
Corporate stooge.

A-fucking-men to this.

The rule of social media that every word before “but” can be safely disregarded definitely applies here.

People said for a long time that Reform/Brexit/UKIP etc had no chance of power. The right ignored them and voted for them anyway. Now they are getting what they want. The left must do the same.

No, you don’t, and you won’t. The entitlement is staggering.
January 31, 2026 at 1:06 PM
Sure. But which is which?

Looking back, a man of his age deciding to call his entire business empire “Virgin” could be seen as something of a red flag.
