People who frame themselves as above conflict often mean: I don’t want to be emotionally inconvenienced unless it costs me nothing. When the issue is abstract, moral clarity is easy. When it’s a real person they know naming harm that makes things uncomfortable, suddenly it’s “too much.” 😀

The JPost article I read this morning applauded the IMEC (India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor) for skipping public normalization with Israel, because that’s ~politically unpopular~ right now. "Forget embassies!" Their words. Since, you know, diplomacy normally requires public legitimacy.
