It's how the cool kids play video games. I can't play video games like that, I'm not cool enough and it would hurt my back. Olivia just noticed that Hannah did something terrible. Olivia: YOU MISSED A GEM! Hannah: I did? Panel 2 The game that Hannah is playing is a cartoony platformer with a colorful character. The character looks like he is perpetually uncomfortable. There are collectable gems and Hannah can see one near the top of the screen in the direction she just came from. Hannah: Ah, I see it. Oh well. Panel 3 Hannah does not seem to care that she has missed the gem and is continuing on. Olivia does not understand. Olivia: You're not going back to get it? Hannah: Nah, I won't lose sleep over it. Panel 4 It is now night time and Olivia is in bed and unable to sleep. How could Hannah not go back and collect the gem? Does she not like gems? It was right there? Why didn't she just grab it. What if the gem lead to a secret? What if there's something special that happens when you get all the gems? Olivia will remember this.

recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best. It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence lies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't. By magicmosshka, yesterday's

I've been craving cookies for the past month and Christmas was finally the excuse to make them. It helps having two families to bake for.
Eggnog cookies in the front, gooey butter cookies in the back. Hot cocoa cookies in the front, peanut butter brownie cookies in the back. A couple rolo pretzels can be seen in the corner. Peanut butter blossoms in the front, sugar cookies in the back. All made by my mother-in-law. Oreo balls made by my wife.
