Hello Tuesday.
Dust cover for Brian Wildsmith’s Blue Bird.
The central figure is presented in profile, facing left, with a distinct, elongated silhouette. It is cloaked in a flowing, white gown or cape, adorned with subtle patterns and textures: The figure wears an elaborate headdress, possibly a crown or a decorative piece, which extends upwards and features a prominent, heart-shaped or wing-like element at the back. In its left hand, the figure holds a long, slender staff or scepter, topped with a radiant, star-like ornament that emits light.

Hahakigami (broom spirits) are a type of #yokai that occur once a broom has reached a very old age and is transformed into (or possessed by) a spirit, known as tsukumogami. Because brooms were used in ritual purifications, they can become powerful magical charms.

Rachel Ayers highlights six of the many fine retellings of the fairy ballad Tam Lin. I was honoured to publish @pameladean.bsky.social's extraordinary Tam Lin in the Fairy Tale Series (Tor Books), and I'm delighted to see it listed as one of the greats. It truly is. reactormag.com/a-knight-to-...

Disabled people aren’t “less than”.

It’s not a moral failing.

Most people will experience disability at some point.

It’s a minority group you can join at any time.

We need more accessibility, inclusion, accommodation and compassion.

There’s no social justice without disability justice.
