another update as we hit the evening, we received another $20 which brings us to $320 total. this has us $40 short of getting everything taken care of tonight, if anyone can help close this gap I would be extremely thankful

it's getting so bad that we've repeatedly looking into moving to get away from it but rent is so high everywhere nowadays that any money we'd save on electric would get sucked up by higher rent. it's a nightmare, and it feels inescapable

electricity has always been expensive here but rates have only been going up, plus the city government is forcing citizens to pay back Duke Electric for the city getting hit with charges during a cold snap a few years back, so everyone's electric bill has skyrocketed in the past two years.
