Thurmond was the same age as Booker when he set the record Senator Cory Booker just broke.

Thurmond was afforded a bathroom break and read from the encyclopedia. Booker held the floor the entire time and delivered a consistent, cogent speech for more than 24 hours.

The slippery has sloped.
They claim they can snatch people up, put them on planes, and deport them to a country run by an authoritarian, where those people will be forced to work slave labor at an inhumane prison. All without due process, and in defiance of federal courts.

The hypotheticals are over. This is the nightmare.

The chaos is the point.
I see tomorrow is Friday.

Is Friday going a tariff day, or a some-tariffs day, or a no-tariffs day?

Or will it be some other kind of day, like an annex-Greenland day, or a Hannibal-Lecter-wants-to-have-you-for-dinner day, or an Arnold-Palmer-size day, or something else?

I just can’t keep track.

I am begging Democratic lawmakers to stop solely pointing out the obvious problems and start publicly talking about how to address them.

We know our democracy is unstable and unhealthy. What are you gonna do about it?

Cease the platitudes and broad statements. Get specific and talk about actions.

Can’t be said enough.
Should go without saying but the point of diversity in hiring is to find _better_-qualified candidates outside of stagnant social networks that don't reward merit, like the kind of network that would put an MTV personality with a marketing degree in charge of the Department of Transportation
