The media is all collaborationist, that includes CNN, and MSNOW, and anyone else on cable.
I get that everyone on Bluesky has seen the CECOT video but my question is how does the scale of its spread compare to what might have happened if it had aired on 60 Minutes?

Scanning the media, the story seems to have already disappeared. Bluesky is a specific audience.

We are all Charlie Kirk guzzling dumb juice now.
Can you imagine, being so petty that they sue Trump over renovating the East wing of the White House, with donations. Or angry & vile because he doesn't take a paycheck & he helps American soldiers instead of terrorists!

This sure was worth putting 40% of the US economy on.
This is just sad.

Just a lil self-esteem booster for people that have to deal with reading booster garbage: Never let these cretins shame you for not approving of a technology that has delivered nothing and is actively pushed on people for no reason.

"Potential applications" in the post they quoted, says it all.
1. This tech might be revolutionary that does not mean I have to teach with it/use it in my research.

2. This tech is making teaching harder and antagonistic for many of us, ignoring that and suggesting we are just reactionary like 15th century monks is really not useful.

The magic of reading books and learning things.
That led me to still more material I never originally considered, and ultimately to a book that began in the New Deal and ended where I once thought the book would begin, in the 1960s.

I made countless discoveries along the war and found something new to say.

All because I did the work myself.

Of f-ing course it did. It always goes back to protecting oligarchs money.

This here is the big danger of LLMs, you don't know how they curated the training data or the re-enforcement learning. The architects of these models can create any blind spot they want or that money can by.
The standard story was that 1950s religious revivals were about contrasting America with the godless commies of the USSR, but I found material that hinted at an older well funded campaign that reframed the revival as a corporate pushback against the New Deal.

So I followed that unexpected thread!

They have unredacted originals.
So, our only hope is that some FBI agents took it upon themselves to save unredacted copies of the Epstein files with Trump and everyone else's names in them.

And that they release them.

On today's let's have a chat:

Guest A thinks women are fit for little more than private property of their fathers or husband's

Guest B thinks women should have equal rights.

Let's see if we can come up with a compromise between these two equally valid positions...
CNN has a show with a similar line. That the problem with this country is we just aren’t talking to each other.

It’s the kind of diagnosis that a toddler would land on.

Nothing says common sense like careening down the highway at 150 kph.
In the UCP's Alberta, we disregard all evidence that speed increases the fatality rate in collisions and just do what the public want.

Because Leadership.

This means that someone doing 150 kmph in these areas will only face a $249 fine.

I'm missing the plot here, right? It's me, I must be the dumb one.

I read stuff like this and I just keep saying, "It's a chat bot." What is there to demonstrate? Does the Gen Z'er have to open the LLM app on their phone and type to it? Do they have to introduce the provost to their LLM girlfriend?
It's hard to overstate how impossible this demand is from Purdue's administration to implement these AI requirements by next fall. We are nowhere close to understanding what AI proficiency means or what it looks like in education.

Wtf is, "basic competency," in regards to LLMs?

It's a goddamn chat bot. You type something, it completes the next paragraph.
It’s been fun while it lasted: “Purdue University will begin requiring that all of its undergraduate students demonstrate basic competency in artificial intelligence starting with freshmen who enter the university in 2026.”

Just give Carney a few years to prime the pump and then we'll be ready for the same brand of Trumpism to further destroy our country. PP just arrived a tad too early.
ROSIE: You've now lost two MPs to the Liberal Party... Is this a problem of your leadership?

POILIEVRE: No, it's a problem of Mark Carney's leadership that after Canadians clearly rejected a costly Liberal majority... he is trying to manipulate his way through backroom deals.

Ahh yes, let's trust a company that has already bent the knee to Trump so we can have more datacenters for a garbage technology nobody wants.
