My publisher’s been very patient. I’m not doing everything I said I’d do to promote this book (out in a few weeks) because I’m an organizer in a city under federal attack. My days are full and emotionally exhausting. Any help getting the word out means a lot. It's a book people need right now.

Everything is bad, but books are good. Get a book. Read the book. Cherish the book. Finish the book. Tell your friends about the book, and leave a review of the book. Hold the book close. Listen to what it tells you. Do as it commands. Place it on the dread altar and let it guide your every choice.

I hate to say it, but i am not confident in my country's judicial system.
Especially for foreigners, especially for people of color.

Any help counts, even sharing.

From my friend Alaa.

This is what we have enabled. This is what the apartheid state is doing with our weapons and our money. When you say "Israel has a right to exist," this is how they use that right.

These good people get no say in whether they live or die.

When I was little, the U.S. military came to our home at gunpoint and took me and my family away. We were imprisoned for years in barbed wire camps simply because we were Japanese American. I have spent my life telling that story, hoping it would never be repeated.

I didn’t know I needed this.
Thank you.
You might need it, too!
My must-reads list this week is split into articles about what's wrong and articles about how to make things right. I also share some organizing resources and my final thoughts for the week.

We’ve moved to a small town of half hippie and half cowboy from NYC.
First I was scared as only one Asian, but through Christmas cards and sharing eggs, I learned that we can help each other without being friend or agreeing on everything.
Now I can see we will help each other through next wild fire.

Today I made my first successful sourdough bread and opened a credit union account.
I know I’m late in the game but am trying to make some distance from the capitalistic world.
