it's crazy that 500 years ago, you would see the ruler of your country maybe once in your life and hear whispers that they're the Sun God, but now with social media, you get to see on a daily basis that they're the most unhinged, idiotic, and unhappy person you know

Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

It's the trend now. They get filthy rich doing dirty jobs, publish a book 'exposing' how evil the evil job they've evil-y done was, and then get free media publicity to sell their book about how brave and/or sorry they are.
a grifter who left a political career (former UK Deputy Prime Minister) to serve as Zucks lapdog, now says the most evil company is indeed 'evil' having
actively created a hostile/anti-regulation culture & making millions doing it. cry me a fucking river

Rogan and Lex Fridman are the biggest podcasters in the world not because of their high quality interviews, but for the opposite reason.

Anyone with power knows they can go on these shows and frame the narrative however they see fit.

Seriously, if you worry that upholding the law might be politically bad for the 'optics‘, and could give a boost to the people you want nowhere near power, you have already given up on the principles you claim to be defending.

NEW: Elon Musk’s X has suspended accounts of Turkish opposition groups, suppressing footage of anti-government protests.

So, best we share all the footage we can here!

This was last night’s massive demo against Erdogan’s government, which follows the arrest of his rival Ekrem İmamoğlu.
