Otacon is too skinny for a biopsy, so we're trying a few medications to help him. His red blood cell count is also really low so we're closely monitoring him. If he's not doing better in a week we'll have to get him a blood transfusion. My poor little guy :(

Oooh what a great question!
Mostly its the combination of the moon and the "weight" of the scene.
If I want it dense and feel very palpable and physical, I would go for more oil-ish style. If I feel like it's more ethereal, or fleeting, feverish or dreamy I would go for watercolor-ish style.
