「生物多様性を人間より重視した結果、火災が深刻化」みたいな悪質かつ荒唐無稽なデマに人々が飛びついてしまうのも、この「地獄への道は善意で舗装」という極めて強力な「ストーリー」の悪影響だと思うんだけど、ほとんどの人はそもそもこれが「ストーリー」だと認識できていない。なのでインターネット格言の深イイ気持ちよさに脳をハックされて今日もデマを拡散してしまうのでした

「よかれと思ってやったことが、悪い結果を招く」ということは当然それなりの頻度であるだろうし、「地獄への道は善意で舗装されている」という格言が当てはまる状況も色々あるだろうが、と同時にそういう「善はかえって悪なのだ」みたいな言説が、別に日頃から良いことなど何もしていない私たちの怠惰さを気持ちよく肯定してくれる「ストーリー」でもある、という危うさも一応認識しておくべきだろうな。
